POPPY SHOTTS
FOUNDER & LEAD DESIGNER
Poppy founded Showcase in 2021, in a bid to create an empowering space for artists to discover, express, and celebrate themselves online. A graduate of the Royal College of Music, London, and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Poppy has expanded significantly in her creativity in recent years to champion authenticity, and speak on inequalities in the classical arts. Poppy’s obsession with design started as a teenager with MySpace, and learning to code elementary websites in the early 2000s. Poppy cares about running a team and ethos that seeks to empower and celebrate classical artists in all of their brilliance and individuality. It’s of the upmost importance to Poppy that everyone working with and for Showcase thrives in their own artistry while empowering others.

ANNA-LUISE WAGNER
SENIOR EDITOR
Anna is a German soprano and linguist based in London. As an ex-academic editor and researcher at the University of Cambridge, she has a keen eye for detail and a way with words. She has designed publicity material and websites for her own productions, concerts, workshops, conferences, and lectures – as well as for internationally acclaimed artists like soprano Chen Reiss. Anna has worked as dramaturg and translator on high-profile opera productions in the UK, Germany, Austria, Italy, and the US, including the world premiere of Liszt’s incomplete opera Sardanapalo and Barrie Kosky’s staging of Offenbach’s Orphée aux enfers at the Salzburg Opera Festival. As a soprano with an unconventional background herself, she is keen to support other artists making their way in the classical music industry. Anna is also dedicated to introducing new audiences to classical music: during lockdown, she founded Marginalia, an interdisciplinary performance collective bringing new versions of familiar repertoire to life on stage.
